What to know
How it is performed
Liposuction may remove fatty tissue, while glandular tissue may need direct excision through a planned incision. Excess skin or nipple position may require additional work. The combination is chosen after assessment of the tissue and skin.
Who may consider a consultation?
People with persistent chest enlargement who want to explore treatment may seek assessment. Medicines, hormonal conditions, weight changes and previous surgery should be reviewed before a surgical plan is made.
Recovery & follow-up
Swelling, bruising and temporary firmness may occur. Compression and lifting or exercise restrictions are advised individually. The chest contour changes as swelling resolves, and follow-up assesses healing and symmetry.
Risks & considerations
Discuss contour irregularity, persistent fullness, asymmetry, scarring, fluid collections and nipple-sensation changes. Further treatment may be needed.
Questions to bring to your consultation
Ask whether fat, glandular tissue or excess skin contributes to your concern, whether further assessment is needed and which surgical approach is proposed.
